Some tvs these days are basically computer monitors. Plasma tv are atleast. So you should be able to connect your laptop to your tv via your laptops dvi connector which is the connector for external monitor(if it has one). Your tv has 3 hdmi connectors which work well with dvi. At the very least your laptop should have an older rgb monitor connector but I don´t know which model you have. My monitor is an rgb monitor while my computer has 2 dvi connectors. A dvi to rgb adapter works well. Don´t know how rgb to hdmi would work though.
You could go analog instead too. You laptop probably has an S-video or component output. Your tv has scart and component input. Such cables and adaptors are available at most electronics stores.
Your TV probably also has a PC card input. That may be the easiest way to go, as you may have need for it with other devices in the future.
YES YOU CAN!!!!!!
If you TV has a PC input, you can go buy a VGA cable with male connectors on both sides. that will work. Or dvi to hdmi,or VGA to component, or VGA to s-video. All of those cables will work, but the dvi to hdmi will give you the best quality.
